OpenHome Player Multi Room sychronisation
Huh

Hello

I am trying the Openhome Player both on my PC and on a Raspberry Pi.

Generally it seems to work but:

When I try Multiroom with the source being a Linn DSM both Openhome players seem to play slightly out of step relative to the DSM. I find it hard to say whether the Openhome players are later (I think) or earlier (maybe) what is clear is that they are out of step.

Is this a known issue e.g. that Openhome player does not know the sound processing delay in the PC/Pi and may be adding too little or too much.

Is there anything I can do to compensate/correct this?

thanks

Martin

RE: OpenHome Player Multi Room sychronisation
Hello

As a suggestion it would be great to have a timing adjustment parameter in openhome player that could be used when the player is participating in a Songcast Multiroom set up. This would be adjusted using Konfig.

The parameter would be a signed number that would give the number of milliseconds that the play should be delayed or advanced relative to the current default (which I assume is the Songcast default of 150ms delay relative to source input time).

thanks

Martin
